The market for multicolor 3D printing is currently one of the most exciting areas of additive manufacturing. At CES 2026, a new player has taken the stage, which could pose serious competition to established manufacturers:AtomForm. With their debut product, thePalette 300, the young company promises nothing less than the end of massive filament waste and endless purging processes.

The problem with the "Poop"

Anyone who has printed in multiple colors (for example, with the AMS from Bambu Lab) knows the problem: With every color change, the nozzle must be purged. The result is countless small filament clumps – often affectionately called "Poop" – that often weigh more than the actual printed object.

The solution: The OmniElement System

This is where AtomForm comes in with thePalette 300. The heart of the printer is the so-calledOmniElement Automatic Nozzle Swapping System. Instead of using a single hotend for all colors, the printer has up to12 separate nozzles.

The trick: Each nozzle is permanently assigned to a filament. Through a rotating mechanism, the printer quickly switches the active nozzle.

  • No purging needed:Since each color has its own nozzle, cleaning the hotend is unnecessary.

  • 90% less waste:AtomForm promises a drastic reduction in filament waste.

  • Enormous variety:With up to 12 nozzles, you can combine up to36 colorsand 12 different materials in a single print job.

Speed meets intelligence

The Palette 300 is not a slow specialist, but a true workhorse. With a maximum print speed of800 mm/sand an acceleration of25,000 mm/s²it plays in the top league of CoreXY printers.

To ensure nothing goes wrong at this speed, the printer is packed with technology:

  • AI monitoring:Four cameras and over 50 sensors monitor the printing process in real-time.

  • Automatic calibration:The AI helps to perfectly align the nozzles.

  • Quiet operation:Despite the performance, the noise level is expected to remain below 48 decibels – ideal for home office.

Price and availability

AtomForm plans to launch the market in thesecond quarter of 2026. The pricing strategy is particularly exciting: While the regular retail price is expected to be$2,199, early birds can snag the printer in pre-sale for just$999.

Additionally, the manufacturer offers theRFD-6a suitable filament management system that not only stores the spools but also actively dries them.

Conclusion: A game changer?

The AtomForm Palette 300 directly addresses the weaknesses that hobbyists and professionals find most frustrating about multi-color printing. If the system with the automatic nozzle change works as reliably as promised, this could become the new gold standard for complex multi-material prints.

The T250 open-source printer prints a Benchy in under 2 minutes!
In the world of 3D printing, there is an unwritten rule: If you want to know what your printer can really do, print a #3DBenchy. The little boat is the ultimate stress test for speed, cooling, and precision. While conventional desktop printers usually take 30 to 60 minutes for this, a new open-source project is now setting completely new standards.
