Bambu Lab discontinues the X1 series: All facts at a glance
MEER 3D Technologies

The X1 series has been regarded as a pioneer for fast and reliable desktop 3D printing since its introduction via Kickstarter in 2022. With the achievement of the 'End-of-Life' (EOL) status, the era of this generation of devices comes to an end to make way for newer developments like the P2 series.

The support roadmap until 2031

For existing users, the end of production does not mean an immediate stop to service. Bambu Lab has published a detailed schedule to ensure the long-term use of the devices:

  • End of production & sales stop:March 31, 2026

  • Software & firmware updates:Feature updates and bug fixes will be provided untilMay 31, 2027.

  • Security patches:Critical security updates for the firmware are guaranteed untilMay 31, 2029.

  • Spare parts & technical support:The supply of spare parts through the online shop and authorized service centers, as well as technical support, will be maintained for a total of five years, untilMarch 31, 2031,.

Availability of remaining stock

Although direct sales through the manufacturer have been discontinued, there may still be remaining stock of the X1C or X1E models available at authorized retailers. These devices continue to be covered by the full warranty and are included in the aforementioned support schedule.

Outlook

The end of the X1 series marks the conclusion of a successful chapter. While the hardware is no longer being produced, the technology remains operational due to the long-term spare parts warranty. Users looking for more current systems will find powerful alternatives in models like the Bambu Lab P2S, which focus on further efficiency improvements.
